On behalf of Heath Hayes & Wimblebury Parish Council and the residents of the Parish, it was with great sadness with which we received the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Our condolences go out to The King, The Queen Consort and the Royal family. Our thoughts are with them during this sad time. Queen Elizabeth II has served our country with both distinction and honour throughout her long and distinguished life, and as our monarch for the past 70 years.

Councillor Martyn Buttery, Chairman of Heath Hayes & Wimblebury Parish Council said: "I am deeply saddened by the news of Queen Elizabeth II's passing, her life was dedicated to serving our country and was truly inspirational. I am, as I'm sure everyone is, extremely grateful for her lifelong dedication to our nation. May she rest in peace."

"As a mark of respect, the Council’s flags are flying at half-mast, and we send our deepest sympathies to the Royal family. Thank you, Ma'am, for everything.”

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh

On behalf of Heath Hayes & Wimblebury Parish Council it is with great sadness which we have received the news of the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh today.

Our condolences go out to The Queen and the Royal Family and our thoughts are with them during this time.  The Duke of Edinburgh has served our country with both distinction and honour throughout his life.

If residents would like to pay their respects, they are being encouraged to do so by signing an online condolence book being created on the British Monarchy’s website in the coming days. This can be found at www.royal.uk. There will be no physical book of condolence being provided by the Council on this occasion.

On floral tributes we are advising our residents to restrict any tributes they may wish to make to the confines of their own homes, perhaps by displaying in a window or a front garden. This is in the line with the wishes of Buckingham Palace and is in view of the current pandemic situation. It is advice that is being given by all districts and boroughs across the county.

The funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday 17th April 2021.

Martyn Buttery

Chairman

Heath Hayes & Wimblebury Parish Council
